# What are Time Points?

Time Points (t.p.) are the proof of the time and attention you have spent participating on the t2 network. They are not a token.

When you read articles on t2, you earn Time Points based on the amount of time you’ve spent. Finishing a 10-minute read article will earn you 10 points, for example. Gather enough Time Points and you can earn badges and unlock other functions and features.

Time Points are a great way to recognise your learning and discover new things. They also serve as your reputation points. It forms an important part of your identity and helps build your persona, unlocks social features, and allows you to be recognized within the t2 community.

Time Points are non-transferable. To view your total accumulated Time Points, just visit your user profile page.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://t2-world.gitbook.io/docs/onboarding/get-started-as-a-reader/what-are-time-points.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
